This will be the first of many monthly recap posts regarding maintenance and fuel economy on my F30 Diesel 328D. Documenting monthly thoughts here will give a solid idea of what daily life is like with this car.
Where Did We Go?
Odometer: 1042
Driven this month: 795
To work mostly. It’s the sad fact that many miles will be daily commuting.
What Kind of Fuel Economy Did We Get?
Avg MPG: 32.3
This is generally on par with my old TDI on the same route. I believe this will get a bit better once the motor has 5-10k+ more miles. Haven’t had a chance to let her wind out on the highway yet, unfortunately.
Maintenance and Upkeep
Based on the production date of the car, the engine oil was due to be replaced. During the process, diesel exhaust fluid was added. This occurred at 774 miles and was covered under warranty/maintenance.
